Description

Besides my huge interest in CG, I'm also a dedicated mushroom "hunter". And very soon hopefully, the Morels will be here. Well, how about some digital ones already :) Of course my morel models here are not perfect (or perhaps too perfect) but IMO I've managed to get quite the "feel" of a morel, using subsurface scattering and displacement mapping, among other things. (Real morels show huge variations even within the same region, and though my models are a little too regular, they are often found with these roundish caps.) Toolbox: Vue 7 Complete, Onyxtree, Photoshop a. o Rendered with "Outdoor Radiosity", but not without problems, to say the least. Vue doesn't like the SSS, it seems! Postwork with Photoshop, mainly DOF lensblur, framing & signature. Basket by "geralday", textures modified by me. All other objects & textures by me. - I may make a new render of this without the foreground "showpieces", I'm quite pleased with the little spot I've created here :) Thanks for taking a look, comments etc. very much appreciated.
