The poppies don't bloom until summer, but as I anticipate them, I am imagining them growing strong in their own universe as they reach toward the sun.

This is astounding! The fuzz reminds me of something more animal than plant, and the colors are brilliant and on just this side of searing. Wonderful. The red really jumps out of this, and well...the writer in me is inspired both by the image and your description of it. I can easily imagine this as a close up of some bizarre Nemaean plant, probably native to one of the protected Stellar-national planets. Great work! (If you read a reference to searing red, beautiful plants in an upcoming Nemaean story, you'll know where that came from.
