Description

Captured 3/28/09, very early in the morning, about .90 miles/1.448 kilometers from that place I call home. Since this collage is all about hydrants, I was going to clone out my shadow in the middle shot, but it was so awesome I just didn't have the heart to do it. And, what is most evident in the bottom shot, that is not a shadow on the sidewalk, but merely oxidation from the longtime-leaking hydrant. I thought it would be a nice touch to include it. Thankx for looking in, and have a tantalizing Tuesday.

Yours are different. We have all the old standard red plugs that we've seen for years. Your collage is a creative piece of work. I never thought about photographing hydrants around town...but why not? You appear to be a mere shadow of yourself in these:-)))

One of those mundane things that are actually interesting, we don't have them, well we do but below ground.I've always liked scenes of these opened up on a hot summer day and kids playing in the water jets. Great idea, and interesting compilation.

This is so cool! I never thought of a collection of hydrants, that would make a wonderful series. You are a leader among men (and women!) And man, you sure look tall by your shadows.... :)

LOL! I love it Harry, and I'm so glad that you didn't clone out your shadow! And the perfect title, lol. And yes, those are quite different from the standard red ones. Great collage and sense of humor! :)

No clone! The middle picture is perfect as is. You quet a long fellow by judging a shadow compare to the fire hydrant. We have yellow here too not many red.

What a neat array of shadowy images Harry! I'm glad you didn't take out your shadow. I agree that it adds to the image and do not 'take away' at all. Very clever idea! (ps - I'm not even going to try and catch up... just too far behind... I might take a peak and some earlier works that I have missed!!! :0)

Fire hydrants and dude shots! Cool idea mate. We don't have hydrants here in the U.K. but lift up flaps! Neater but not as much fun? Rob.

oh, terrific & fun & bold. We don't have hydrants like these either: These are quite a variety! And in your usual triptych way, you've given us several images that are both alike and different; and we feel like we're seeing a variations on a theme. I also love your shadow in number 2, in fact I like all the shadows (it's in your title, after all), and that third one with the stain is a great visual takeoff on shadows to begin with, as if it were doing a parody. Another of your creative interplays. Love what you do with montages!
