Description

A pic I took from the bus on the way to work one of these mornings. The guy with a cane always reads on the bus and gets off at this stop. As plain as life. Thank you for your support. Nikolay

I like the row of people ahead of the man -- as if they are dancing... Beautiful piece, Nikolay! Very profound!!!

Good shot...maybe an old vet with that cane? Excellent human interest factor involved here. Just read somewhere recently that children (not babies) and old people make the most interesting universal subjects among people.

The angle of the folk, caused by your lens, adds a further twist to the image.

I like the distortion (due to the bus window?) and the fact that he and the others in front of him are walking in one direction and the fact that there is a young and stylish person walking in another. Not the usual type of subject that grabs my eye but this one sure did! Well done

The first thought I had seeing this was...carrying a burden of life. The man with the cane and the line of people on the left all look bent over from carrying the burden. I understood it is the illusion of the window, but it still communicates "burden" to me. Then when you said you were going to work, it fit so well. I've felt it, seen other with the same feeling when going to work. It is the opposite coming home. :)))

You are a visual Poet Nikolay!! Fine image and I love the huddled up younger element who seem more effected by the cold than the old boy!

You've taken something quite ordinary and given it mood and a very special quality. Wonderful image!

You always have so much flavor in your work Nikolay! Its a great work and reminds me of that image long ago that you allowed me to use. It has for me that same kind of emotion, brilliant!

The slight distortion of the people leaving the bus makes them feel heavy, weighted down with the daily grind of living, like cattle all going the same way. Yet the girl to the right feels light, and airy and free, unfettered by the need to conform and blend in, headed in her own directions. A wonderful work, it says much to me, and I can't quite get it into the right words, which only proves that a picture is worth a thousand words!

This is what makes you special Nikolay. Your extraordinary observation and that right timing is uncanny. Like clockwork you give Life this colourful meaning. always -Julian

what is routine in one's life is captured poetry in another's. Congrats on this moment.

ah you did it again, Nikolais, you take an ordinary allday situation and turn it into an artwork with a lot to think about...smile

sensitively captured & transformed by you, once again; the procession of people are warped as if in the direction of their destination; and the man with the cane is caught in a simple posture of self-absorption and maybe a little struggle. The light in the shot is beautiful, and the sepias are met—as in many of your sepia shots—with brushes of color here and there. Beautifully seen & executed. Another fav.

I like this very much. I can't tell if it's a reflection that's distorted, or a straight shot through distorting glass, but the effect is nicely dizzying. It's a dream-like image of every day life in the city and all of the characters we come across.
