Description
After walking beside me for nearly 18 years my dear friend Kate has left me.
The days are growing shorter,
Night is closing in
I held you close my little one
But your eyes were growing dim
The flame that burnt so brightly
Now flickered, faltering
As evening came
And darkness fell ...
The ache I feel within
Is the sound of my heart crumbling
Tearing me apart.
Our pathways cleft ahead of us
As you traveled through the dark
Until the light embraced you
And your journey now is over.
But anguished
Is the warrior cry
As the story is unwoven.

Your poem is both touching and beautiful. I'm sure that your little one is at peace now and running in doggy fields like a young pup.

Katie is in the hapy hunting ground and will wait for you. so sorry for your loss. it is very sad for us when we lose a family member. you still have your wonderful memorys of her time with you. i know how it hurts to lose someone that way. i have lost a lot of loved pets that were family over the years.
