Description
I'm a big fan of sci-fi, particularly the theme of human colonization of other planets. Here's another one now, a home away from home. I think it looks better in full size, there are some details hardly visible otherwise (the original is 1600 pixels wide but unfortunately I have to decrease it for posting in the gallery).
I've done already a few images with this theme and because some of them are buried in older pages in my gallery, I put a selection together now, below.
Oh, by the way, several of these images were used by e-on and Cornucopia3D. For example, "far away from home" was used again in their latest newsletter. "I can see my house from here" was used as cover for Vue 7 Pioneer. The "Colony" was also used in several newsletters and promotions.

I love your sci-fi scenes, Arthur, and this one is fantastic ! You could do many images with this scene, many other points of view (...just for the fun !...I wonder if you do that : if you takes a lot of photos from different POV when you do that kind of huge and detailled scene and then you choose the best image, the most interesting...or not ? If you do only One image ? I wonder...) but the POV of this one is excellent : it allows us a good understanding of the scene...

Nice one ! i like the idea of the dome and the barren terrain on the out side of it , perhaps may i suggest a shielded transparent like glass effect on the dome that demonstrates a protective surface !

Very evocative image... Reminds me of the film Silent Running. A biome like this could be a wonderful resource for the colonists perhaps in the early stages of terraforming. Still, I'd always be worried about what happens if the glass breaks! Not a place to go throwing stones (better hope meteorite strikes are rare in this system).
