Description

That what the sign say just out side the town. Lincoln most authentic old west town in U.S. anyway if you really love history this is the town you like. It have six museums and most the town have not change that much. Yes the road is payed so you drive on a good road. I did take other shots of the town but this is my first day shooting from the car as we drive thought it. Love to stop and see these places up close. But we did not have time. It be on a diff trip I take. may not be much to the town but I love history and this town is rich in history. Billy the Kid maybe the most famous person there but they had Kid Carson too. He from a diff time 1800-1868. Billy The Kid 1859 to 1881. So these two never met but is world know as far as I know. The lincoln county War was the big picture in this town and Billy was a small part of it. Anyway you can look it up on the net if you wish to know more of this town and it rich history. Both the men I say here I grown up with and know a lot about for they was my heros. I happy to pick Kid Carson over Billy as the good guy when I was growing up. I posted this today before I move on with photos of the trip. I just had a 70mm to 250 mm Zoom as my smallest len with me. lol. This is part of a old building there and it as it came out the camera but a little contrast and leveling of the photo. When you have that type of len and restain on you you have to be think the best way to overcome. hope I did it right. I did have some street shots but they came out with movemenmt as the car hit a bump as I took the shot. I had the camera speed too low that first day lol I trying to keep to the way we went but did not so far as the mountian you saw yesterday is about 20 miles past outside Lincoln. Which be a day ride on horse back.

Superb! Looks like a painting. In Taos Kit Carson Museum is right in the middle of town. If you park at the big T-intersection you can't miss it.

Very cool shot, Jock. Interesting story about the old west. The decay of that building tells it's own story. Original pick of motif.+5

Nature reclaims its own, Jock. Lots of history here. You must have had a lot of fun. And Sheriff Pat Garrett killed Billy the Kid.
