Description
I shot this photo 5-6 years ago, when I had a Sony Mavica with floppy disks. In order to get a decent place to see the procession one has to go there many hours in advance, stand on sore feet, bear hot, sweaty waether, squeezing crowds etc, and in the end shuffle back to the hotel with your backbone broken in at least fourteen points, elephant ankles, and aching bladder.
I can't imagine how it is in the most famous procession in Sevilla. Sometimes I wonder why I spend money to go through these ordeals, when there are prisons where they do it for free.
If you are made of a tough strain, however,I state and affirm that every aching muscle is worth while. The procession gives the onlookers deep emotions. To me, as an anthropologist, it gives a chance to witness a deeply felt display of popular faith that has disappeared in most Italy.

utterly fascinating.. great tone, nice sense of movement, and a great photo as souvenir and testament to the pain endured to take it ;)

I don't know why, I could think we are 50 or 60 years ago... I saw several such processions in Spain and it is always so impressive.
