Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Oh, I like it this way too. Missouri River flows past here...but it is brown and muddy all the time. I guess that is Canada passing by:-)

Love the color gradient pattern you have captured here.

Superlative gradation of blue in the water as it moves off into the distance, Maz! The floral foreground adds depth to the fine image. Gads, I wish I could think of a song that goes with that title...certainly not Old Man River...there must be something in the genre of music that would be fitting.

yes Marilyn, that's one of the beauties of smaller bodies of water. Not that the ocean doesn't change colors, but it's not quite as visible as it is with a river or lake. I look at Lake Michigan from my window, and it's a different color nearly every hour; and its changes are vivid and opaque and just beautiful: I wholly understand what you're talking about. And it's great that you want to chronicle it for us as you go. A lovely shot. As an old girlfriend used to say, while she watched the Lake change colors (she was a painter): "Siiiighhhhhhhh..." (She was in heaven. I know what you feel...)

YEP!! What a beauty!!That three colours are out of this world. The most i like more to see "from here"is the 1st: transparent green and the gradient to the 3rd the sweet blue. Here, near Lisbon we have a litle village(Sesimbra)Where the sea is just quite that!BEAUTIFUL.
