IÂ came from a traditional art background (pencil sketching, watercolors and acrylics mostly - with some airbrush work) and then stumbled onto the 3DÂ world by accident learning to code flash game actionscripts. Someone in a forum mentioned Blender...checked it out and IÂ was like wow, a free app that can do that? Found Daz Studio about a year later, then moved on to Hexagon. My major influences would be the Romantics and Pre-Raphaelites, even though IÂ don't consider myself of either school. But for specific modern artists:Â Chris Achilleos, Frazetta, Kinuko Craft, Kadri Umbleja (aka Iardacil), Diane Ă–zdamar, Frank Miller, Todd McFarlane, Range Murata, Hayao Miyazaki.....to name a few. Lately I have started delving into Daz Studio 3. I know I am way behind the times, but I was trying to eek out everything I could learn from DS2 and finally think I have done as much as I can do in that version.
Happy Rendering!

I love the unique quality in this render. Extremely inspiring. Question: Was this rendered as is or did you do some postwork to it?

To Katanas: I rendered in two stages. The first render was with one UberEnviroment light and 1 distant light. The second render was with a distant light and a point light both set to specular. The renders were combined to get the basic image down. The original pic looked very realistic except for the hair so I decided to play around in Photoshop duplicating layers and using a couple of action scripts I created to mimic sketching and pastel work. To Midnight Stories: I have DS .161 and also a copy of beta 3 running on my machine but beta 3 doesn't support most of the shaders, UberE, LDP2, etc. so it is hard to tell what the new version will really add. The full release is supposed to have volumetric lights and Dreamlights DOF camera pointer. The paid for version will have a lot more I hear. Thanks everyone for the kind comments. Any suggestions are always welcome as well.

This is amazing and I echo most comments made here. I have Daz but for the life of me I can't get it to work. Funny thing is that is what I started with! (sighs!) Now I am hooked on Poser 7. I tried to go back to Daz because I have seen renders with that program, such as this one and they are amazing! Great job!
