Description

Hi there. On Sunday a friend of mine gave me a small box and ask me if I'm interested what's in it. Of course I was... I opened it slowly and there where a couple of European rhinoceros beetles (Oryctes nasicornis) - they are about 35mm long and the horn on the males nose measures 8mm I think. The larvae are about 120mm long - very fat and ugly white things! The imagos are so beautiful - I took them away and yesterday I made a "Photo-Session" with them. Today I will post the first of the best shots and will set them free in our compost. Hope you like him - please zoom for more details. Have all a great week and stay tuned.
