I used to do oil painting and charcoal sketches and particularly liked the sublty produced by those two mediums. Since getting into 3D graphics I have struggled to find a way to blend the layers into a wholeness similar to fine art. Poser figures have particularly baffled me since their boldness seems difficult to tone down and integrate into an overall harmonious composition. They are still a work-in-progress! In recent months I have experimented with some new techniques, from outright digitally painting, to transparent-izing some components, in an attempt to bring it all together. This image is one of my attempts at making digital graphics look more like an oil painting. Done in Photoshop CS3, using some pre-rendered Poser components.
