Description
The name Excalibur apparently derives ultimately from the Welsh Caledfwlch which combines the elements caled ("battle, hard"), and bwlch ("breach, gap, notch"). Geoffrey of Monmouth Latinized this to Caliburnus, the name of Arthur's sword in his 12th-century work Historia Regum Britanniae. Caliburnus or Caliburn became Excalibur, Escalibor, and other variations when the Arthurian legend entered into French literature.

Ok, got a little bonkers there.... LOL!
I had always wondered what the origins were for the name EXCALIBUR, and after doing this scene, I googled it.
Excalibur model is by Rivers3D, and can be obtained for free at www.scifi-meshes.com
Planet, planet ring, moon and sun are part of the e-Frontier Science series at Content Paradise. All were retextured by me for this pic. The planet texture is actually a NASA picure of the m17 Croman Swan Nebula as taken by the Hubble Telescope. The background image was also take by the Hubble, and is a picture of the Bubble Croman Nebula.
Lighting is by me. No postwork other than logo.
Thanks for looking, and hope you like it
