Description

I am on lookout duties, the newly fledged blackbird chicks seem to be saying " come and get it ". They are sitting in the most obvious places and we have visits from 3 cats all belonging to neighbours. I am leaving my garden hose on to shoo them is needed away from the chicks. I hope they develope a sense of danger soon. I know it is a primevil instinct that drives the cats. I just wish the cats where so full of "Whiskers" catfood they couldn't be bothered to chase the chicks!

OOOOOO! Kewt or what! If it's not cats it's magpies, jays, herons, crows: keep up the good work, Kevin!

Keep up the good work, my friend. I was so fed up with losing blackbirds to cats (and I adore cats, by the way), that I made a 'prison' round the side of my house. Cats cannot get in, but birds can. Right now I have a nest of blackbirds a few feet away from my window. Toast, cheese, mealworms twice a day along with a small waterfall ensures their safety - for a while, anyway. Thank you for your vigilance and the lovely image. ^-^

So beautiful and I am so glad that you look out for them. I love cats and I know they do hunt by instinct, but if it can be prevented that that is GREAT.
