Description

The Last Farewell. A fantastic poem... which ended up on a fantastic journey. It came from the streets of Birmingham.. and ended up being a best selling song of all times..on a world wide level. The inspiration for my last image, was from a Roger Whittaker song. And so is this one. I admire this poem a lot.. because it comes from street level. It has several strong elements...Beauty, tragedy, seperation, war, death, danger, pain, sadness...And a lot of other elements.. This is an old beautiful live version of it: Click here to hear the song An alternative version in case of country restrictions: Click here to hear the song A watchmaker and Silversmith from Birmingham, UK.. wrote this fantastic poem. He was listening to a radio show... with Roger Witthaker. Common people were encouraged by Roger, to send in their lyrics and poems. So the silversmith did that... And his little sensitive and beautiful poem... became a world wide success. It kinda has the same story as Susan Boyle from "Britains got talent" is about to get... if anyone watched that lately. I could not resist trying to depict the feelings, of which that silversmith from Brimingham must have had, when he wrote "The Last Farewell". This is what came out of it. Again you are a very passionate person, as your art shows and your music choices also. We all loved Roger so much he was a very special man, with an amazing voice and how he made that silversmith famous with the beautiful song. Yes what about Susan Boyle? I cried when she sang and felt so deeply for her, she has looked after her mother all her life, and her hidden talent was revealed last Saturday on Britain's got Talent, another very special person. I love your artwork Lars you have created an amazing work here, full of passion and drama and so many emotions. Superb work my friend, hugs Jane xx

This is such a beautiful and powerful image you constructed Lars and the song I know very well. I must say I was happy to see it was another new work as from the title at first I feared another of my friends was leaving.

Again Lars, I must abstain from the music because of audio problems on my Mac, so I won't know all of the things you're evoking. But I can tell you what I see...Two people who seem to be connected but are pulled apart; the lush dark in which you place them; their postures being in motion, as if they're walking away but don't want to (well done); the sliver of light on the horizon, like hope or maybe lost hope; and your ever typical lush reds & clouds & rose & rose-drippings, the drippings being like the soul spilling or the heart weeping. And fine sensitive layers in the sky too. Each piece of yours has a delicate & beautiful fantasy around it, very rich, very pulsing and filled with heartful energies and passions-made-visible. You evoke these things so often & so well, it's always a visual feast and a mythic journey as well. When my audio returns, I'll try to hear these songs, and maybe I'll see things I didn't see before. Beautiful enchanted image.
