Description

This was an amazing day for me... not just seeing, but being able to walk through this grand building built in 126 AD as a house of worship to the Roman gods... touching a building almost 2,000 years old was magical... it began to rain and my colleague and I were able to sit outside at a local restaraunt directly across from this grand building... I was almost giddy as I sat there thinking, "I am here in Rome, eating a delicious Italian meal, in front of The Pantheon... life is GOOD!:... Oh yeah... my company paid for the entire thing... B-)

Remember sitting at that very restaurant on the right enjoying (an overpriced) plate of spaghetti. When we went in to the Pantheon, a choir was rehearsing for a performance ("Hallelujah, hallelujah, ....). It was out of this world. I have the whole thing on video tape. Then after 25 minutes we were ushered out so that special guests could come in and listen to the choir. It was an experience I will never forget and the whole thing comes back to me in technicolor seeing your post. Thanks for sharing. Doesn't it bother you too that you can't get a clean shot of the entire Pantheon without the obelisk being in the way? Excellent capture!

I tried and tried to find the best location to take the capture... if I could have gotten to the TOP of one of the restaraunts then I could have gotten the right capture, though I don't speak Italian well enough (nor am I that charismatic) where I thought that I could have accomplished THAT task... LOL... I had spaghetti (seafood) that was overpriced as well, but definitely very tastey (I didn't have a bad meal anywhere in Italy... England, Poland, and the Czech Republic are different stories though... LOL)... and I agree, this is one of the moments that I will NEVER forget... Note to all: I ate at the same restaraunt that Hayden Christensen and Rachel Bilson ate at in the movie "Jumper"... if you want to see a high quality video of the Pantheon (and the Coloseum... which I have another capture in my gallery of) you should see this movie... gives you a taste of what Marcopolinski and I are talking about...

What an excellent shot. You right, I would be just bursting at the seams to stand in all that history. but my company don't let us travel anymore :( Great shot.
