fascinating, Mandi, it's like architectural facades—either brick formations or windows—taken off the buildings, abstracted into sheets, and laid in rippling manner on top of each other. You have a play between solid and pliant, and the effect is really quite visceral: When one first looks, it's just a pile of shapes fallen on top of each other; but the piece draws one in...it's so tactile, and one realizes that these objects are connected and that they have thickness as well, almost like structures on their sides. Fascinating, and as always, done with the greatest ease & naturalness. Also, the lighting makes it feel apocalyptic, end of days-ish. When you leave your 2D world and create 3D-like images, you are utterly at home...Architectural yet a big floppy rest-zone. Really compelling.
