Trees of the genus Sorbus, commonly known as “Mountain Ash” in North America and “Rowan” in Europe, are among the most magical trees in European mythology and folklore. My first encounter with that fact came from the story of Melangell in Nancy Harding's book “The Silver Land” (a work of historical fiction that I highly recommend).
My goal here was to create something reminiscent of a cel from a Disney movie such as Sword in the Stone or something. Using lighting that left the colors oversaturated seemed to work out well for that effect in my opinion.
This image is an artistic work of mine on which I am seeking feedback and suggestions for improvement, not presented as a promotional render! (a mod removed this image yesterday and informed me that occurred because links to content used to create an image were not allowed in the image description, hence I have removed the links leaving only the credits)
