What's New with The Art Of Carol Cavalaris
Galleries: I currently exhibit my work in several Colorado galleries, including juried shows at Art At The Center in Nederland, and Gilpin County Art Association in Central City. I also exhibit in several on-line art galleries. I also have on-going exhibits at various banks, community centers, libraries, restaurants, and also participate in local Art Fairs and Festivals. Art Licensing: I am a collectible artist with The Bradford Exchange, where my art is on a Dream Catcher Collection, as well as an exclusive figurine and sculpture collection. My art is also being licensed and is on a variety of products including: eSkins for laptops, iPads, iPhones, etc., puzzles that are being sold in Target, K-Mart, and other retail and web stores. Several of my pieces have been licensed by a company called The Mountain. They produce high-quality, environmentally-friendly T-shirts and other apparel, and have some of the finest wildlife and fantasy artists in the world on their team. love how you've melded all this together, with the deep cavernous "inside" feel of the whole. I don't know what the original birds looked like, but it looks like you've softened them to a degree, and brought out rich and stunning color contrasts. It's as if this is how they'd look in a deep dark cavern (where love is secret but intense!). The branches, etc, have a strange liquid glow, like they're made out of some kind of rubbery substance (maybe part of the "strange" in your title). And the light seems to seep forward in spots, like a haze; while the birds & nest/home are resting on what appears to be a body of water that's as much paint strokes as water (I love that). Inventive, fun and "color coordinated," a fun vision of elements that you've put together very well—I wonder if you don't start out with one image, sometimes, and then assemble them as the images 'call' you—creating a very evocative feeling of privacy and quirkiness all at once.
