It has no feet
To stomp over petty jealousies
Love is kind

To enter your house
And speak words spoken by other men
Love is true
It does not exist
On false promises
Or deception
Love is proud
It should never find itself
Pushed into a box for
Convenient display…
Instead worn as a smile to tell the world
Of its existence
Love is strong
And in the end will thrive
Even when put to the strongest tests
Of time and criticism.
Love is forgiving
For it is in love that we
Accept that no one is perfect all the time
Love is in song
To sing its own praises
No matter the owner of the pen.
Through all the stops and starts
We keep coming back to these two hearts
