Inspiration Point Panorama at Yosemite by PhotoBill
Open full image in new tabDescription
When we visited Yosemite in September 2006, we entered the park through the south entrance. We drove north on Highway 41 for about 35 miles along the western face of the Sierra Nevada range. Then the highway curved east and we entered a long tunnel. When we emerged from the tunnel we were treated to this fantastic vista at the entrance to Yosemite Valley.

It is one of the most photographed spots in California I believe. Your shot is one of the best giving not only the breathtaking view, but the softness of mother nature in full dress.

Yes, this most famous spot is what I consider my backyard! I'm only an hour away from the northeast entrance at Tioga Pass, but I never seem to get there enough. You've inspired me to take my new camera and go!!!! Do return sometime, as there is no way to see it all in one trip!!! Oh.... and congratulation on being chosen for LWITG!!!

Bill, just came across this photo. I have a real affinity for the format you've used and in this case the subject is spectacular. I visited there years ago in my non-camera toting days. Thanks for this posting and congrats for being selected for LWITG...well deserved.
