Description

A number of low-security inmates were working at the astrodocks, thanks to the PIG's suggestions. These people were usually minding their own business, and given the right monetary incentive, they were ready to become forgetful. J.S.'s largess was rewarded with questionless, fast service. The container with the med-lab was ready to be carried into J.S.'s astrocargo, when troubles materialized into a ROGUE Manta Class fighter which landed arrogantly assuming that the dock belonged to it. The presence of a fighter, given its short autonomy, betrayed its mothership nearby. "A fine kettle of fish" J.S. muttered looking at the Rogue's accounterments and epaulettes. Together with the sabre, they announced the Rogue's aristocratic caste. "Unload that med-lab! - he ordered haughtily. Then, pushing by J.S. with the point of the sheathed sabre, he added: "Clear off! that stuff is mine!" J.S. couldn't help thinking that the Rogue behaved like a mobster. He murmured: "I've a delivery note." "Scram!" growled the Rogue. J.S. raised his hands soothingly and withdrew, while the other sneered: "Scared?". J.S. went back to his astrocargo took his plasma pistol, and returned to the dock. The Rogue realized that the porters had stopped working. He turned and smelled J.S.'s pistol barrel. "I changed my mind - observed J.S. - the med-lab is mine". Then he nodded at the saber: "That's scary". The pistol kissed the Rogue nostrils: "This's scarier!" J.S. grinned. He had the med-lab loaded into the astrocargo, while keeping the Rogue under fire, The latter didn't move, with an ugly smirk on his lips. J.S.'s astrocargo, in fact, was a defenseless piece of junk compared to his fighter. As soon as he got into the ship, J.S. was off like a shot. The Rogue took his time, he loved to play cat and mouse. The Manta fighter caught the cargo in a flash and flanked it. J.S. laughted and gave the finger. The Rogue accelerated, overcame J.S., and faced him by the bows, so that the prey could see who was going to kill him. The fighter armed the plasma guns.... and blew up. "Prevention is better than cure!" laughted J.S., thinking of the explosive he had put in the openings of the Rogue fighter's plasma guns. J.S. went back with no trouble at all. well! A triptych of images, and it says "100th"! Not sure that means your hundredth upload, or the hundredth entry of this tale. (I think it's the former...) Congratulations in any case, a worthy milestone! (And btw, I'll fave this whole series at the end of my session, so just assume everything is fav'd, because each of these installments took a great deal of time, working-out, detail, humor, etc. My fav's aren't working still, they show up in ebots but not in my gallery. But they'll be there when I fix them. So to continue...) All nice touches in your narrative, slyness, humor, twists and turns---we think the rogue has the upper hand when, boom, he doesn't; lots of corrupt motives (except for JS); and JS giving the finger. (A good finger always brightens up a tale!) The outlaw/renegade factor in this saga is finely thought out, and gives all these excursions a delightful undertone, as the heavier parts of the narrative play themselves out. Top image, very well done, more of your dramatic cinematic angles. Lots of visual 'lines" interacting here. Even the way the wall on the far right juts into the scene, a visual counterpoint to the rest. And the touches of bright yellow and red are wonderful. As is that creative outfit for the Rogue, and the detail on your walls, etc. Wonderful imagination. The next one...well hell, always good to see a hero give someone the finger. Love the image. And more of your dramatic angles and dark lighting. And I love the closeup detail on the He-Bot, from his beautiful head circuitry (beautiful) to that great vest/shirt, and the stripes on his arms. Very finely done, and you spell out a whole person with just a portion of his/her torso. That's an art. And finally the last image: Kaboom! And JS is on his way. The interior is again very nicely done, and nicely lit. You do very well in these dark interiors, with light, hue and angles. Another fine entry in this tale!
