Description

...seemed as tho the great airship race had only begun when nightfall quickly approached and the steamers decided to set down and drop anchor in the calm waters of the bay, far below them. Time to turn on the night lighting and celebrate. Altho the propellors were now silent and dead in the water, the steam still belched from the rear stacks as it would all night long; making sure there was ample power for uplift at the first signs of dawn. I'm rather proud of how this one turned out as I rarely do a night scene. Full size viewing is a must for the detail. Flying Steamer courtesy of Phillip Drawbridge. An excellent night scene Keith, the mood and lighting, and the POV is very dynamic.Really like the lighting in the ships, and the way it casts on the underside of the balloons...very well done!

Fantastic image Keith, you sure know how to use this ship model to great effect. I like the way the lights are shining out from the ships windows in this one and the air of tranquility over the whole scene. I also like the ships reflection on the underside of the balloons, this does show best in full view. I'm a sucker for night images and I know they are hard to do so this goes into my faves. Tony.

A great sense of composition in this superb image which looks like a painting to me, and what really drew my attention here is the magnificent lighting you've achieved to convey this impression of silent serenity. Excellent work, Keith!

Great image and well thought out that they would land at night and using it for a scene. I like the lights out the windows and reflection across the water. The night sky is well done as well.
