Description

I've been hearing rumors for years about a Spitfire actually breaking the sound barrier, the story was that the Spit went into a steep dive and somehow managed to go Mach 1, the dive ripped off the Spit's wings but still. I somehow doubt this story is true, but has anyone else heard it.

Great picture. One of your best. I'll do some checking on that. Not sure it was a Spit. Have heard something like it...... Well done. Rob.

Like I said for your images before, Mc Gee would relate to them. ------------------ Rumour has it, that it was a Tempest or a Typhoon, but the tailsection was ripped off. Plus, P Clostermann relates something relevant about a Spit (I think) P
