Description
Panorama of Shorepine Bog Trail located near Wikkinish Beach part of Pacific Rim Park on Vancouver Island. The forest trees are stunted and gnarled because their roots must struggle to absorb the few nutrients and minerals available in the acidic, waterlogged soil. Some of these trees are only a few metrure high and are more than 300 hundred years old.
