Description
Yeah, I'm Mad... Let me explain.
When I was a child, Mountain Dew was the first pop I ever had. I loved it. I've loved it all these years, However...
When I was still in grade school, Pepsi bought Mountain Dew. I found out and felt Mountain Dew was going to be taken away and never heard of again. My Older Brother told me it was a good thing and that the Pepsi Co. would make more Mountain Dew. He told me they might mess with the art on the can or change the formula... Well, within this last decade, they started screwing with the art on the can. Being an artist, I hated that they changed it.... they've changed the art so many times I lost track. This year, Pepsi decided to drop "Mountain" and abreviate it to Mtn - aaaarrrrgghhh!!!
I also loved Mountain Dew because I moved to the Mountains when I was 4 about the time I had my first Dew. After changing it to Mtn, it looked generic - it was sad.... My imagination told me that Pepsi was just going to drop Mountain, Mtn, and just call it DEW.... Less than two weeks ago, I was at the grocery store and saw that the old art on the can was back, and they put on the can "throwback". Man, I was sooooo happy. I got home and cracked one open. I took a big drink and it tasted like diet pop!!! I checked the ingrediants, the up to date DEW has less sugar, less salt AND....
THEY DROPPED THE CONCENTRATED ORANGE JUICE!!!
I believe the orange juice is the key to why I love this stuff.
So, I thought I'd add this to my gallery... I use my gallery as a diary (kinda).
ABOUT THE PICTURE -
The top picture is when they changed the art of Mountain Dew. I was given a Mountain Dew mug from a good friend of mine. Shortly after he gave it to me, I was just staring at it and noticed with the "new" lower case added to it, you could now read "Mad U I at U now" ... I have been mad at Pepsi.... And if they don't do something quick, they will lose all the people that love the drink - AND... Mountain Dew has been making more sells for Pepsi for years than the regular Pepsi sodo pop....
BAD MOVE ON PEPSI.... This may be the end of Mountain Dew... and if that happens in this economy, I can see Pepsi going under - How important is Art/Taste???
I had to gripe, and I felt I had to warn other DEW drinkers out there -
MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE INGREDIANTS ON THE CAN. IF CONCENTRATED ORANGE JUICE ISN'T LABLED, DON'T BY IT - I'M SERIOUS, THE AFTER TASTE TASTES JUST LIKE DIET POP.
IF YOU LIKE MOUNTAIN DEW, AND WANT IT SAVED, COMPLAIN TO PEPSI AS MUCH AS YOU CAN AT:
PEPSI.COM
ALSO, PLEASE FAVE THIS SO OTHERS SEE IT AND WE GET OUR DEW BACK! I've never asked for anyone to fave me before, but this is for a good cause, please, help out.
Thanks for reading and your support.

Mountain Dew has always been a fav of mine too. that and orange Crush). You know you are right about the taste and I thought it was just me. But since I can't have sugar it reallt doesn't matter to me. Wonderful that you found the different logos

Well,i don't know Mountain Dew...i am from Europe but i agree, sometimes i ask too why company's change stuff to something worst. Funny is when they change a pack in a "Easy to open" :( You can be sure this pack you only can open after with a lot of tools . :( Cut finger, and find the stuff after on the floor. BTW....yes, my dragon still guard my fast render. LOL Great image. Has something nostalgic.

I do not know Mountain Dew but since same things happened to drinks over here I can understand your feelings! Hope you will get it back, your Mountain Dew! As for the image and title... I think it's ingenious!

Wonderful..love Mountain Dew!!

I don't "do the dew" but I do very much agree...It irks me they change the images on them...to me if its as good as they are advertising they shouldn't need new pretty beefed up image. I've never had a new label make it taste better...but I suppose that's all in the selling game now-days!

Mike I am with you all the way on this one buddy as I hate when someone buys a company and sure enough the idiots start screwing around with what made it great. Loved the image and reading your history with Mountain Dew

I completely agree with you. I tried the Mountain Dew Throwback once and nearly barfed. It also gave me a headache and stomach ache, which diet drinks do to me all the time, which is why I never drink them anymore. I work for Wal-Mart and usually buy a Mountain Dew before I begin work and sip on it throughout the day, and now I'm having to scrounge all the register drink machines to find a Mountain Dew that isn't diet or a Throwback. This was a bad decision on Pepsi's part. Rant over.

Yeah, hate when you find something you like and then they start changing it. Particular when its a food or beverage and they start messing around with the ingredients.

Thanks for the heads up. Mountain Dew is a staple in my life. I used to drink Pepsi, but when I discovered Mountain Dew, I couldn't go back. It was one of the things I missed most when I was in Germany, although I did find it once (at an Aldi, I think). I don't really pay a lot of attention to the packaging/design, but some of the others that Pepsi has come out (including those under the Mtn. Dew banner) leave me wondering. Sure, it's not the best thing to drink, but it's hard to beat, and it doesn't always have to be cold. I don't know if I've ever had it with cane sugar (or if they ever made it with the real stuff), but the orange juice is a MUST. Whenever a company says that you can't tell the difference in taste, they're wrong (Coke Zero, Pepsi One, diet stuff). And the best way to taste the difference, drink plain water in between and the taste is supposed to remain consistent. But hey, enough about secrets to drinking pop (cola, soda, however you may want to call it).

Believe it or not, I've never had a Mountain Dew (don't you dare throw that can!) lol Just haven't, don't know why, but being a Cancer, we 'crabs' don't like change and change that ruins a good product. So Pepsi is on my list and I will go over and voice my right to complain. :o) Great art btw.

Often Big Bosses are too ignorant and lazy to build or created something new, cool or useful like great engineers and clever people do. So they buy a fantastic product and totally destroy it just after, in order to satisfy their inferiority complex.
