Description

pain impossible to breathe disbelief only one question: why? thoughts at war: remembering verifying comparing contradicting justifying. an endless, meaningless battle to the brink of self destruction meagre clasps at hope pleading: please, please! tears yet only a deafening silence echoes in reply then emptiness, nothingness and finally realization of broken promises shards of yesterday merely wiped away not by the sand of the desert nor the tides of the ocean but by harsh decisions unexpected uncompromising savagely selfish a heart is crushed a soul withered away but the footprints of yesterday will stay April 27, 2009 -------------------------------------------- Image taken at the Namibian Coast, March 2009

Your words cut through my heart - and I cry for you my friend. Only one row of footprints, with a second row dissappering along the way...

Very, very nicely written. I can only imagine. Painful. Wonderful photo to illustrate your words. Good arch by the way...just for a little cheer:)

Superb work. There is the ideal and it wears away until we get to the real. The shock wears off and slowly that initial question of why becomes less urgent. We learn the answers to a very different version of the question why as time goes by. One that moves us higher, and into a better future. A process of many years.

Have you a limp Carin? There looks to be a slight drag on the right foot. Foot prints in the sand should always be in twos or more, sadness is around if there is only one set. By the tone of your words sadness is indeed around, I hope it goes away pretty soon. Excellent image, profound words. Gentle hugs.

Poignant narrative to accompany this marvelously lit and textured image, Carin! There will always be conflict and war as long as there is life on earth. And I'm not just talking about humanity.

Your capture enhances the very sad thoughts of your poem. Very well put together and remember that when one door shuts another opens. Take care.
