Continued from S3-3-9: Andromida Feraer & Brytag. “I’d be most pleased to have you with me,” ‘Romi cooed in reply to Brytag, her coy smile and seductive eyes implying more then just as a traveling companion. Syn would have preferred to have Brytag stay with him longer, but he understood her fear of the warrior-priest that perused her and recognized the wisdom in her reasoning. She was not the first companion he had lost before he wanted, but at least this time there was a chance that he could renew her acquaintance some day, and his curiosity about this place of celestial study was too great to forgo, even for the promise of her continued company. “Then it’s settled,” Blade announced, looking toward Rynard and Syn for confirmation, then turning back to Rodrigo. “We’ll travel with you to this ‘House of Stars’.” Although Rynard was reluctant to leave ‘Romi’s company so soon, he could clearly see Syn’s interest in the House of Stars, and he knew that Blade would likely go with Rodrigo even if he and Syn did not. So his only choice was to part with the alluring Argimilite or his long time companions, and that decision was easy! After all, there were comely maids all over the Young Kingdoms just waiting him to sweep them off their feet. “I am most appreciative for your company,” Rodrigo replied turning a grateful smile from Blade to Rynard, and then to Syn. As all Vilmirians, he had been raised with the teaching of Law, which painted Melnibonean’s as nothing more then cruel, sadistic, amoral monsters without a single redeeming quality. But in the brief time he had known the Dragon Lord, he had found him something quite different; thoughtful, noble and honorable. Which lead him to question what else the church of Law was wrong about. “We leave at first light,” Syn confirmed Blade’s commitment, looking to Rynard who nodded in acceptance. Then he cast a sly smile toward Brytag, who returned it in kind, while ‘Romi and Rynard, and Blade and Rodrigo, each shared a similar exchange. There was no need for pretence among them, they all knew each other intentions as they rose and split into couples, all determined to make the most of the few hours they had together.
