I am a developing artist working on improving my abilities to create beautiful digital landscape compositions. Without the help and suggestions of the many fellow artists in this community, it would be a long time before I reach the next level.
BIO
I am a retired procurement professional who has long had an interest in photography and painting; and, lately in computers and photorealistic natural landscapes. I hope to become more proficient and perfect my abilities to produce acceptable work. My experience in art started at a very early age when I would spend many hours sketching and painting. I had instruction at The Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois. I did some freelance work for Flying Models, Model Airplane News and Top Flite Models creating plans and illustrative construction sequences for magazines and kit models. I had spent more than 20 years designing, building and flying radio controlled model airplanes...a very rewarding hobby for me. During the 1970s, I spent 11 years in the hobby of "bonsai"; the Japanese art of miniature trees. In my first 7 tree entry in a contest, all 7 trees were awarded ribbons in various categories. Japanese landscaping became a passion for me where I completed a 3 year project creating a Japanese landscape around my home in Oak Forest, Illinois. I also did this work for several other people in our community. In 1987 I moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I currently make my home. The love of the American southwest and all its beauty is where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Now that we have computers, digital cameras; and, Terragen; I'll have enough to do for a long, long time.

absolutely stunning ! F

The sand shore in the middle is very great. The vegetation in the foreground is beautiful ... I don't like this plastic tree on the left.

Absolutely agree with JPSoft.Great stuff, except for the trees. They reduce the grade of realism in here, if you know what I mean. Greetings

Love the colour contrast of the leaves and the rest !!

Well, you got there in the end. Masterful work, Bob.

MMMM Now that's a resting spot, or should I say watering hole. LOve it Bob... the water adds the 'imagine' you here touch. I could sit there for hours looking at the various flora and hopefully some fauna would join me. Beautiful daylight. Superb surfacing and plant integration!!!

I think the 'plastic tree' gives this a slightly surreal feel. Especially with those clouds bent over the mountain, racing by. I like it! ")

Splendid and peaceful vista, Bob!!!

You are getting there, Bob! I kind of like the tree myself, but what I want to see is soil and sand on the beach. I think that is very hard to do well in TG2. You have to get the particle size just right, the color and distribution should not be very hard, but there must be a reason I haven't seen much convincing surface work related to dirt. Keep up the great work my friend and you will have this nailed soon.

Very Nice.!!!!!

Take a bow, Bob! Looks like you put a lot of work into this - it definitely has the "natural" feel. And welcome back, my friend!

The fake camouflage tree on the left is the only thing which stops this picture looking like a photo. The rest is stunning.
