Description

I thought I should post 2 versions of my Zbrushed Alien Queen, because with a slight tweak you can get very different results. I was inspired by Meats Meier a Zbrush legend and his 'wire-frame' mini-tutorial. Step 1 - Zbrush sphere object Step 2 - Make an adaptive skin Step 3 - Subdivide the geometry Step 4 - Add grid texture and create mask Step 5 - Remove hidden polygons Step 6 - Smooth and inflate ...but the last step in my versions didn't quite work out the way I expected it...more practice needed ! Cheers jif3d :o) Credit: Sixus1 - Alien Queen

Superb concept and images Jeff! I have owned zbrush since the beta days, though never managed to create anything worthwhile... except its brilliant at mapping photos to meshes.

Both of them turned out great Jeff - it's always great to experiment, even - or especially - when it leads to unexpected results!

Spiffy! The top looks like a an alien fossil found by accident on an archeological dig. The second, I now know what it means by nightmare. Great effects and work

That bottom one looks like he's been hit by a DeRez ray or something. Super Z-Brushin, I've heard that app is a Bear to learn. Peace

hot damn, but these are good! the first one looks like it's a fossil encased in rock (you might want to try that for a testure)... the second one is just plain electro-freaky.... like a bad acid trip while hooked up to a series of laptop batteries... Kreegah!

In frame (I) it looks as if the queen is walking through a wallpapered wall... and frame (II) she has been fragmented into oblivion, both are amazing WIP's for starters in a new direction... love to see more of your Sci-Fi art in Zbrush ! Great effects...BB

Your first alien looks as though it flew into the wall and went splat and shattered everywhere, very cool look. I love the second effort with its colourful background and its purposeful look. I think you are going great guns with this program, and it looks as though you will be able to make some very different creatures with your imagination. I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Desserve a full size view, lots of details hidden there :)looking forward to see more. Zbrush is quite painful when it comes to export and displace map but it's powerful for creation through z-sphere and painting details. Have fun
