Description

Honestly, I do not know if these are related to the potted plants we call violets. Growing wild, when in season these small flowers are a special touch of nature beauty for us to notice and enjoy. As a kid, we had potted violets. I was always warned, "Do not touch the leaves! You will cause a bruise." Well, I grew up staying far away from those plants. This wild one..well, I get up close and personal. Enjoy a tiny bit of my territory. Please click for larger view. The thumb is very unspectacular and will be overlooked. I am glad you noticed this wee flower.

I never knew violets grew wild until I moved to the south and the house I lived into had them growing everywhere. I love the tiny bits of color they provide and they were pretty hardy. Great shot that does this beauty justice.

Beautiful flower, Tom. Love how it looks so gentle and vulnerable against the blurred background. The leaf to the right might steal the show a bit, but it's stunning in itself, with the veins so clear and the green is beautiful as well. Gun aka redheadgrrl
