Description

This is a pencil sketch finished in photoshop. This was for a Rebels challenge at ImagineFX titled Kings, Queens, Princes and Princesses. My idea was for the execution of the royal family by a evil and corrupted church Bishop.

beautiful work. i love how the Bishop's expression is so satisfied and smug. the composition is very good, if a little static. i think a more angled view would make it visually more interesting, but the present composition reads almost as clearly as text. i do wonder what the roses are for in the narrative. i mean, they're an excellent symbol for youth cut down in its prime, but why (story-wise) are they being given to the Bishop? i'd love to know. i like the muted and somewhat dreary colors. a very good depiction of opulence in the midst of misery.
