Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Beautiful narrative poem, Marilyn. And the accompanying pic is a wonderful addition.

Perfect photo illustration to accompany your very convincing words. I don't think I've ever met an angel in the true sense of the word but then who can say? No question in my mind that angels exist...glad you have sensed their presence and reaped the benefits of their comfort and protection. As always, this is so well written...right from the heart. Nicely done!

If you mean what I think you do then this is my experience also! And I have met unexpected angels on occasions, in the form of strangers or new acquaintances, who have appeared at exactly the right moment.

Being an angel is a very rewarding job, my friend. I'm happy to be part of this for you. Andrea's comment is spot on ... sometimes angels are those previously unmet friends who come to us when they are needed most.

Thank you so much for this wonderful tribute, Marilyn, although I don't often feel or act so angelic. Actually, the only official angels I know of are the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Oh, almost forgot, fantastic statuary in the image.

This is an amazing tribute, but not entirely surprising: you tend to come up with these little gems on a regular basis, not enough to take for granted, but definitely enough to make a HUGE difference when a difference is most needed...and in my case, when a certain crazy sf writer/photographer is way over on the other side of the planet banging his head against consulates and civil servants who forget English whenever a question is asked. Ah...but you helped in a LOT of ways, and still do. Angels are weird critters, you never expect them to pop up where they do, and quite a few of them seem to be somewhere in the vicinity of the west coast of the USA--as well as in Russia and the Czech Republic. Thank you for this!

Beautiful poem Marilyn but I think that you are the angel, that is out there, spreading love, images and warmth of heart, out to the rest of us. I thank you for being you. Dana P

I'm honored to be among your friends, and I hope you have lots of angels in your life. I know when this was written, and it moved me then too. (Even the photo feels like yours because of the colors.) And it's your poetry: short, in small succinct and vital-packed breaths, and speaking to us in small jewels and touches. And I know what you mean about angels: You know, I'm sure, that the word meant "messenger," so you're singing the praises of the messengers...the people who bring you light & comfort & love. I understand that. Beautiful poem, and right for the moment too...back at ya too. (Keep those angels with you if you go on any huge rivers!)
