WOW! WOW! You're amazing when it comes to this stuff. You capture and convey mood so perfectly! I love the fact that you've done this in black and white, and it has the quality of an aged photograph--a glimpse into a past disaster/event that didn't make it into the history books. There is also a part of this that reminds me of something by H.P. Lovecraft. Fantastic, and I agree with cvrad, this would make an excellent cover illustration.
