Rodrigo, Blade, Rynard and Syn had already gone to Lennara’s chamber and found it empty, so they were making their way to Dune’s where they fully expected a final confrontation, but he and his two male acolytes had charged down the hall towards them. “I still challenge your claim to Lennara,” Dune raved, “but you have no right to take Antonia as well!” “What are you talking about?” Rodrigo responded, his voice thick with frustration and anger. “You’re the one hiding Lennara… and I’ve had more then enough of your games!” In a single blurring motion he drew his broadsword and leveled at Dune’s throat. “You have already taken what you came for… and more!” Dune snapped back, facing death with arrogance and scorn. “Will it take my blood to satisfy?” “Wait!” Syn’s hand seized Rodrigo’s sword arm as he step between them. “If we already had Lennara, we would not be here,” he addressed Dune while fixing him with a stare that seemed to bore straight through his soul, and then turned to face Rodrigo. “He would not leave Lennara unattended knowing that we were coming for her.” Despite their rage, arrogance and stubbornness, both Rodrigo and Dune recognized the sense in Syn’s arguments. If they had snatched Lennara from his bed as Dune had though, they would be on the road to Ordis already, and would have no reason to be headed for his chamber, and if Dune was hiding her from them, he was not likely to leave her guarded by just another woman. That left just one likely possibility. “Where is Antonia’s chamber?” Syn demanded, turning back to Dune, but as he did he noticed the two young men with him, his other acolytes, exchange a look of guilt, fear and concern. Dune came into conflict with Blade, Rynard Adae and Daeron Syn when he seduced Lennara Thrisus, Rodrigo Bandras’ young cousin, into his small flock of elithior worshipers. However, he proved himself much more then anyone gave him credit for, when he stood with them against an evil that he had unwitting aided.
