These are very mean little critters!
Fire ants are what we southerners call them,
if you ever visit North Carolia, or South Carolina, beware of sandy little, or sometimes big piles, whatever ya do, DON'T step on one!! They have a bite that you'll remember! It is really hard to control their nest, and get rid of the queen, a problem here where I live in the summer time!
If one bites ya, the rest of the family thinks they have to bite as well! The bite leaves a hard blister, that burns like fire, (hence the name, "Fire ants") and itches, and can get infected. If you have allergies to insect bites, your in a mess if one gets ya! So beware of these little angry biters!
