Description

Chippewa Lake was an amusement park south of Cleveland which has been closed since 1979. The land will soon be redeveloped for a resort so they have cleared away the brush leaving visible 30 years of decay before the rest is leveled. A tree grew right through the center of this Ferris wheel.

Great capture, a bit surreal with the tree coming through the steel frame!

I liked your placement of the red fireplug which made an interesting contrast to the decaying ferris wheel with the tree taking it over.

How great that you found this before it was gone. With the streaks of clouds, the tree through the wheel, it looks like an other-world fantasy. I,too, like the placement of the red fireplug. It is an excellent treatment of the whole scene.

A first class pic, excellent composition, and a historical record as well!

The scene of a Stephen King novel! I am fascinated by this. There is a "netherworld" feeling to it. Stunning.

Cool pic. Too bad a tree will die to remove the ferris wheel. It makes a great sculpture!

This is beautiful. I love the "nature meets man" types of photography. I had not seen your gallery before, but now that I've taken a look at it, I must say you do an excellent job.
