Description
On May 5th of each year, Japanese families traditionally observe a holiday by flying carp-shaped wind socks (called koinobori). The holiday was originally reserved for celebrating the male children of the family, but in modern times things are a bit more egalitarian, and the children of both genders are honored. In the past, each koinobori was dedicated to a particualar son. The largest carp-shaped wind sock was for the eldest son, a smaller one for the younger son, and so on down the line to the youngest. Nowadays, the largest carp is for the father, the second one for the mother, and the smallest ones for the kids.
Anyway, I stumbled upon a fractal shape that looked like carp (koi in Japanese), so I'm dedicating this one to the koinobori wind socks flown on May 5th.
Made in Ultrafractal using Population Plus formula with the Doodads coloring algorithm.
