Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

I'm impressed! You'll notice there are verrrrrry few wild bird shots in my gallery! LOL! I love your willingness to try new things. You always come up with the most interesting stuff. Nice work, my friend! A gorgeous bird, with wonderful color and composition. I can't wait to see Tuesday's bird! (no pressure) :D

How brilliant a color!! WOW!

I find Wild Birds MOST uncooperative! Here in the U.K. anyway. And, it seems there too. No wonder top photographers go around with lens the size of nuclear missiles! This is an excellent shot for what is obviously a fast moving bird. If I'd have snapped,, using Auto, my camera probably would have focused on that branch! Great effort Bill! Rob.

marvelous!

Stellar! You don't need to bump down the road, but you do need lots of patience.

Beautiful bird and nice shot for a quick go!

That's what I was wondering if I would see from you... the words "I'm hooked'! :) Challenging is a good description, especially for the cardinals, which can be quite shy. Good capture before he bolted, Bill, can't wait to see what's in store for the future! :)

Wonderful looking birds you have!.. ¦ ~

Impressive capture Bill, a beautiful bird it is too. I have tried to take shots of birds but I don't get many in focus!
goodoleboy
Stellar shot of the bird, taken under somewhat adverse conditions. Other than butterflies, snails and turtles, capturing most any kind of sentient life forms can be most difficult. And that includes pets.

I love the color!!! Believe me ..I know what you mean about perfect focus ..I seem to fight that quite often!
