Description
Sorea: Good Morning! I'm Sorea and this is my friend Edicine, he's a flying lizard from Mock's Animal Rescue Shelter. I will be teaching the two of you how to access and fully use the powers of the Wilde Magic.
Telmah: Good moring to you, Miss Sorea. I'm Telmah.
Sorea (laughing): you don't have to call me miss, just Sorea.
Corinda: Good morning, Sorea. It's an honor to meet you. I'm Corinda Wallac and this little dragon is Seneel. he adopted me a few days ago. (turning to Seneel) now don't bother Edicine, Seneel. He's just checking you out!
Seneel: medium pitched rumble
Edicine: high pitched squeaks
Sorea (laughing): Looks like the two of them are going to get along very well.
Corinda (smiling): yes I believe they will.
Sorea: We'll be starting out with the basics of Wilde Magic. How to feel it inside of you and how to access it. Then we will work on using it to defend yourself from attacks. the hardest part of the lessons will be to access it instinctively, that is you will need tolearn how to defend yourself without thinking about it.
Telmah: I'm not sure that I will be able to do that. I've been designed to think and act rather than react, looking at all possible solutions before doing. I do it very quickly but to react without thinking? I'm not sure...
Sorea: Telmah, I know of your history and design, believe me, you will be able to react instinctively when the need arises.
Corinda (thoughtfully): You know, in one way, I feel kinda left out...
Sorea and Telmah: Why? What do you mean?
Corinda: Since I've been here, all the fae and most of the creatures I've seen, except for the Loik, have wings... even Telmah has wings.
Sorea: Hmmmm. Let me put it this way, not all of the fae in this valley are winged fae, we have others who do not have wings and they get along very well in life.
Corinda (frustrated); Why haven't we seen them?
Sorea: They're waiting to see how you do and when they feel you are ready, then they will introduce themselves to you. We have Elves, Dwarves, Pooklings, Pixies, Sprites, Mermaids and even some Drow. The Pixies and Sprites have wings but the rest do not. And they all get along quite well in Fae Valley.
Telmah: I noticed that your voice changed a bit when you mentioned the Drow.
Sorea: Hmmph! Can't put any thing past you, can I? You're right. In most other regions, the Drow are considered enemies of the Seelie Court, and not really friends of the UnSeelie Court as well. They prefer to go their own way. But here, they have learned to get along with the rest of the faes and even be close friends and allies with us because we share the same goals - peace and happiness without strife.
Corinda: How did that happen?
Sorea (laughing): I see our first lesson is one of history. Okay, here it is in the basic form. When we had our last battle with the Unseelie Court, they, the UnSeelie, tried to trick the Drow into attacking us by spreading lies aobut our goals. We had an uneasy truce with the Drow, but when the UnSeelie Court attacked a small band of Drow women and children and tried to blame us, well, the Drow knew that to be a lie and joined with us and the humans in driving back the UnSeelie Court. Since then, they have been accepted as a full part of Fae Valley.
Corinda: Oh! Wow! So when do we begin our training?
Telmah: I'm curious as well.
Sorea: I think we will start tomorrow at the training area, near the glen of testing. Aiko will guide you there. Come, Edicine! You'll have more time to talk and play with Seneel later.
Edicine: Chirping quickly as he presses his snout to Seneel's snout.
Seneel: rumbles quickly
