Description
Vue 7.5I: I figured out how to get a better looking material alpha out of the Vue Terrain Fractal node roughness output. Set the smooth area altitude on the Terrain Fractal to 1 and then hook a threshold node into the mixed material distribution function - play with the threshold value until you get nice split between the smooth areas (Snow) and the rough areas (rock). This generates a sort of "GeoControl" looking alpha. You may want to view full size to see the textures.

Fantastic result! Getting the function generator to produce a natural result is very challenging. Looks like you pulled it off.

Great. Even in full size I did not see the ski lift. Must be on the back side then. A very cool and impressive image Dave.
