Description
The Gilliland Room of the Digital Museum of Natural History
Named after Ken Gilliland the creator of the Songbird Remix series, all of the birds in the foreground room are from sets in that series. The Mammals are all from Daz, the dinosaur tail is the Bone Dragon from Daz, the fossil panels are alphas of photos I took when the Dinosaurs of China exhibit was at OMSI in Portland, cases and building are by me. This is the best indoor radiosity I've done yet, I'm pretty happy with the atmo. The original is 2400 pixels wide, I had to size it down by a third to meet the upload limits.
edit: There was a comment about render time. It took just under 2 hours to render at user settings in Vue 7 Complete. It took far far longer to get the birds to sit on the branches decently. The file size is huge, the .vue file is 281 MB due to all the image based materials. It was using about 50% resources and running with serious time lag towards the end.

wow this is utter perfection, and yes I can relate to the problems getting the birds to sit in the right place...smile

Wow, what a tremendous amount of work! With very good result too. Great attention to detail but also to the overall composition. Excellent job!

This is the coolest tribute to KenG, the premier maker of 3D birds and animals. Great job. I know about render slowdown with large files. One of mine is 800+ MB. In such cases it's good to have the "Exporter Module" and weld a lot of objects. You can see an example of this in my gallery. Cheers, Bill
