Description

Radiosity simulation. "Only" 18 lights in scene. Monges looks horrible close to camera, but looks enough good (I think) at small size. (I must learn alot about organic modelling). Trees are created by a tree generator (obviously to save time, I not modelled each leaf). Mostly textures are created capturing first a mesh screen, and from image editing software, I fit the stone maps to shapes and I painted the small details. This manual lighting setup was fast to handle but architecture modelling was a hard work without planes or scketches. I has only a reference photo. (Thanks to Philip Greenspun). The model is based on Barcelona Cathedral (the cloister) in Spain.

I am blown away by the lighting and the soft shadows. Looking at it from the corner of the eye only makes the light seem more realistic.

There is not a rank applicable for the brillance of this image. How long have you been 3D modelling? The lighting in this scene is astounding!
