Description
The shots were created using only open source software. Modelling and texturing with blender 2.48a, rendering with luxrender 0.6rc2, postwork with gimp 2.6.
The guitar has ~130.000 polygons and has been modelled in 10 hours of work, using mostly subsurfaces. Rendertimes were between 2 and 8 hours per image, making a total rendertime of over 20 hours.
The logo is a homage to the original Fender logo.

That's amazing! It's hard to believe you didn't just take photos of the real thing. Fantastic modeling work!

Well done, maybe three controls and a vibrato bar ? ;)

Nice work. I have a Strat. A few scales are wrong. For example the tuning head posts are too small. Strats also have two tone knobs and the jack output is on the front. Maybe you knew these things anyway so it wasn't important. I guess you'd only notice those things if you had a Strat. Luxrender is really good but I wish it was faster.

Thanks for all your positive comments. @efflux: yeah the model has some imperfections, this ist true. But the main effort I layed on rendering it as fotorealistic as possible. This is not ment to be an excuse. And I modeled after a Squier not a real Strat. :)

Maybe one of your best works until now.
