Description
If you follow the left-hand track on my previous photo you come to a wooden bridge crossing Blea Gill. I followed the Gill over rough terrain for about 6-800m and there it was hidden around a courner - Blea Gill waterfall.
I was surprised at what I saw as the image I had seen on the web was of a much smaller waterfall? So when I came around a rocky corner in the steep ravine and saw a 25-30ft high fall I was very pleased and it made the 2½hr walk worth while.
The only dissapointment is the surroundings, but as I was out on the moors there are few trees or plants for added greenery in the ravine, so the area around the fall is a little barren of foiliage. I guess it would also be more impressive if the Gill was in spate, so may be another trip is required some day?
