it does not really surprise me. an advisory helps the click count rise amazingly :-) there is a popular expression for it "tits for hits"

well girl since i didn't see the 1st mystery place i can only comment on this one, toe one that is. I have to say i'm with ya on the poser thing and even i myself have taken to the nude thing, only my nudes, except dedication to RGUS were about "not" getting my (digital)paper dolls to keep their clothes on while trying to wiggle them into a proper place on my screen, as much as i hate to say it, i had to dress them in colored lights at first and still they won't dress up for me!!! i am glad that the ad's were banned from the general pages cause it was hard to show my grand kids their grandmothers artwork and i see that many people left the rendo cause of all sorta manner, mostly about not liking the strictness of the uploads, but i suppose if u own the place and want to make clean the white table clothes u certainly can do that. u have a good one now and thanz for allowing me to vent my blah blah blahs toooo lol

I agree with you, Juliette ! For exemple: My 4th upload dd.21 Jun 2008 "I am a goddess" (with a little bit nudity) = 211 views !!! No other one of my XD-work had so many views.

Was there a nudity advisory? Since I receive e-mail notifications of when you post I never saw it if there was. I would say a lot of the interest was a matter of trying to guess what part of the body. People love guessing games and contests. Look at the popularity of all the game shows. "It looks like fingers to me." "No, it is definitely toes." "I don't know, I still say fingers." "Send a link to your sister. I'll bet she will agree with me that it is toes."

Bekijk het maar van de vrolijke kant, je hebt er onbedoeld kennelijk heel wat lui in laten lopen. Ikzelf dacht niet onmiddellijk aan een voet maar aan een hand. Klasse dat ondanks het een toevalstreffer was, je hem zo haarscherp kreeg. Sadder and wiser gaan we door, hoewel sadder?, eigenlijk wisten we het toch al lang? Kijk eens naar het aantal views van een "nudity" en vergelijk dat met het gemiddelde dat een fractal krijgt.

It's art if you say it is, and I support the process as much as the end result, and think an artist can be in a kitchen or garden as well as rendering something for print or video. The audience for certain kinds of art is much larger than for others. The number of hits also increases when people can relate to a feeling or question or get a laugh. I've seen over and over, that fewer people understand or can comment on fractals. It's a shame, but in general, people are uncomfortable if forced to think. This is an interesting experiment based on your own refocus.

W I, for one, never thought that it was anything other than part of a hand or foot and I can't imagine that anyone whose seen the human body could have...the skin texture was a dead give away. While I agree that if you put an advisory on it that probably helped to boost your views, I also think the "mystery" played a role as well. In research the advisory and the mystery would be considered confounding variables. In order for this to be a true study, you would first need to eliminate one of those factors to know which was the true cause of your increased number of views.

Well juliette - it may please you to know that my wife and i guessed that it was a foot :-) - As for nudity - well i guess it is our biology that makes it so interessting, and i think that some photographers and some poser-people are able to make nude art of a very high quality, but theres a lot of crap out there - and as one said...if you want a high click rate its 'tits for hits' That was my "two cents" :-)

Als Rembrandt zijn kunst op Rosity zo tonen ,zou hij hoogstens 10 comments krijgen ,dat zegt veel over de mensheid ,we zijn oppervlakkig geworden alleen jong ,mooi en hoe bloter hoe beter is wat ons interesseert , dat zie je aan de mode en al die cosmetische operaties en nog veel meer . Maar wij gaan allen gewoon door met onze fractals ,wat interseert ons die comments ,het ware plezier ligt immers in het kreatief zijn .Wel is het mij opgevallen dat als je veel comments wil krijgen moet je ontzettend veel comments geven zelfs als je het niet mooi vind ,wat voor mij betekent dat je eigenlijk op deze manier comments koopt .

This is great. I was right... woohoo. You're right about the views. It has always fascinated me by what attracts people and what does not. So far I have not figured it out. Oh well. This is a great shot!!!

LOL, I agree with Bunny and most everyone else. I also didn't think it was anything but the toe or the remote possiblilty it was a hand. I also didn't see the warning as I came in reply to the ebot. But it has been proven by several artists that put a nudity warning on an image, and flocks of viewers come to see. I wonder if I should be putting nudity warnings on my dog photos as they are naked ... grins. it was a fun shot, even if it was accidental, and you made the best of it!
