Description
I think this is a Scolia Aedens, but could be wrong. Some type of Black Wasp. These guys are hard to get a good shot of. Constantly moving around and rarely sit still for me. This is from last year and the best I have got of one.

I was of the impression these were some of the more agressive wasps. At least, I've been stung more by black wasps then any other! Outstanding macro!

Gorgeous and impressive. It's not your average photographer who can not only capture a wasp with a good lens, but also show such intimate details as her jewel-like triad of simple eyes or the faint lens grain of her compound eyes. Fantastic work.
