Description

Hello, This a resident at the New Zoo. He has been there a long time. He came to the zoo injured and can't fly anymore. He can spread his wings, but only seemed to want to do that when the door was opened. I think he thought he was about to be fed. I hope you enjoy !

I'm a bit torn with the existence of this bird, he deserves to be free, and to see him living in a cage is more than just a bit unnaceptable. Yet, because of the fact that he can no longer fly, I guess we should be happy that he has a home and can exist? I love the shot, but feel so badly for this wonderful eagle, even the expression in his eyes, as he looks to the sky, makes me wonder if he's thinking what he would be willing to give up, for just one more flight. If it were me........I'd choose flight.

What a beautiful bird! It's sad to see him caged. The direction he was looking definately gives this a certain mood!

A Macedonian comedian whose name I can't remember once declared that as a dietitian, he knew quite a lot about "white headed eagles." I have no idea why that popped into my head, but my mind goes in strange directions like that at times...especially with off the wall stuff like Macedonian comedians...go figure. I love eagles, though I have yet to photograph one. I'll get the chance one day, I hope. I love the light in this, and the manner in which you've caught this amazing creature in all of his dignity and poise.
