Description

Zwitzerland, Berner Oberland, Eiger The sun shines through the Martinsloch (look at the "Sun Hole" in the peak) at the east side of the Eiger onto the church of Grindelwald 2 times in the year (january and november) at exactly 12 o'clock high noon. Seems to be a switzer stonehenge? Thanks a lot for all welcome comments! ;o)

I get the impression of a chill in the air with the bits of snow clinging to the rock and the swirling clouds around the peaks. Stunning shot.

Was the church built where it is because of the light phenomenon? I love these kind of "mysteries"!
