Fine photo. I recall going in old time butcher shops here in the States with my mother when I was a boy...did yours have saw dust on the floor like ours?

Here I thimk you could have used a portable strobe for a little fill. Getting ride of the washed out incoming light from the front window of the store. IT'S ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE INCREDIBLE GRAB SHOTS THAT WIN ALL SORTS OF AWARDS FOR YOU.

I am not fond of the topic.. but of course I can recognize your craftmanship.. esp. considering the lighting.

ay, a beautiful shot, Danny, so wonderful how you bring out the inner light in these interiors. Unlike the last shot I commented on, which was awash in expressive b&w's, this has an amber interior glow, and everything inside glows with a warmth and clarity. Your whites—which are saturated in spots—have fine balance with your shadows, which are deep & rich. And the sheer content of what you shot, the scale, the piece of meat being weighed, the jars on one side and the carcasses on the other...these all make for a photographic feast, even in a dark inward chamber like this. Beautiful. I saw this when you uploaded it and made a note about it. I wish we had a butcher shop like this where I live. (I'm vegetarian, but places like this could almost get me to go back to meat, etc.) Beautiful.
